     In this unit we shall try to show you how a text may be analysed in order to understand its author's intended meaning.

 

     After you have gone through this unit, you will be

 
(i)

familiar with different concepts to analyse a text for the intended meaning and

(ii)

able to predict problems in translating a given passage at the textual level.
