Thus there is no need to translate such expressions "I am to add" or "The President is pleased", etc. The expression "under-signed" translated as "adhohastaksharii" is not necessary and can be replaced by "mujhe" as in his sentence: |

As we all know the nature of English sentences is to use a long and complex style whereas in Hindi, the sentences used could be simple and short. Therefore, while translating a sentence from English to Hindi this fact should be taken care of. The following example illustrates the difference in sentence structure of both the language in a translated text (Goswami 1992): |

Thus the translation of officialese is a technical work which needs intelligence, patience and commonsense. |

| 423.12.3 : OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCES |
The nature of official correspondences requires one to have the knowledge of Government proceedings as well; with a good command on SL and TL both. Though a official translation and technical translation both are necessary for translating official correspondence, yet in a few Ministries or departments, technical translation is in abundance, as they have a lot of technical literature in their official correspondence besides administrative literature of course. |
