This unit introduces an important area of application of the official Language Act and gives an outline of the present status of this Act. It includes a thorough discussion on the problems of translation of Banking literature. The emphasis here has been on both syntactic and lexical problems. Technical terminology has not only been a challenging field in general, it poses a special problem for financial documents. This happens not only due to their technicalities but for non-availability of appropriate terms in course of certain specialized translation. |
