Cheque has been defined in the Negotiable Instrument Act as a Bill of Exchange drawn on a specified Banker and not expressed to be payable otherwise than on demand. In many transactions with a cheque there are usually three parties, namely - the Borrower, the Drawee and the Payee i.e. the customer, the banker and the person in whose favour a cheque is drawn. |
