PROJECT: Take up a piece of literary (prose) writing - preferably a short story - in any language of your choice. Try and work out the number of factors you need to bear in mind before and during the act of translation. After the translation is over, in a brief ensuing paragraph indicate how a knowledge of all these factors has enabled the translation to be grounded on a more sensitive apprehension of the socio-cultural reality. |
